Site 26

Winkler’s Site 26 is located in Wadi Abu Wasil (alternatively known as Wadi Abu Markab el-Nes).  The precise co-ordinates are located in the EDS Survey’s Volume 1 (2000).  Site 26 is made up of a large number of rock art friezes and isolated images, which the EDS has chosen to break down into more manageable chunks.  In the case of Site 26, the EDS naming convention (based on the initials of the person on the Survey who relocated the images), serves as a subdivision of Winkler’s original collective assignment of the rock art in the vicinity Site 26. The names used in the captions shown here are from the EDS survey.
