The following photographs were taken mainly at New Kalabsha and in the Nubia Museum in Aswan. All have been relocated from First Cataract locations that were lost under the waters of Lake Nasser following construction of the Aswan High Dam. A final set were taken at Philae temple, where graffiti of a kind frequently found in desert locations has been etched into the surface of Trajan’s kiosk.
Apologies for the poor quality of the images - the lighting in the Nubian Museum was particularly bad, but I was having problems with my camera too. I’ve touched some of the photos up with software, but they are not all particularly clear.
If anyone has any need of the much larger originals (not touched up), please get in touch: andie@easynet.co.uk
